She made new friends wherever she went but her “special Holland girl friends “, Bonnie, Karen, Linda, Sharon, and Terry, have kept in touch for over 70 years. James and Carol also spent some winters in Palm Springs and Texas where she enjoyed the warmer weather.Ĭarol had a huge heart and was a faithful friend. Carol enjoyed her back yard and grew some amazing calla lilies. Along with James, she learned how to play bridge at their community centre. ![]() In retirement, Carol joined a ladies’ golf group at Silver Harbour and made several friends there. She was an avid sports fan especially the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Winnipeg Jets. For several years she and James attended live concerts, the Jazz Festival, Winnipeg Symphony and the Folk Festival. She was employed by CIBC for over 30 years.Ĭarol met her husband James and they were married July 28, 1979.Ĭarol enjoyed a variety of music. From there, she taught at Ochre River and substituted in schools in Winnipeg before changing careers. She went on to Teacher Education at the University of Manitoba obtaining her teaching degree. The following year she graduated from Treherne High School. She attended Holland School until grade 11 when the school closed. Carol embraced her small town upbringing and joined many activities such as singing in the United Church Choir, CGIT, 4-H Sewing Club, cheerleading, and middle distance track She was predeceased by her parents Tom and Gertie (Milne) Templeton her sister-in-law Lynne Templeton her in-laws Kathleen Campbell and Duncan Campbell her brother-in-law Bruce Campbell and his wife Leslie Campbell.Ĭarol was born Januin Dauphin, Manitoba and later that year their family moved to Holland, Manitoba.
